8. Professionalism & Representing Us

YOU REPRESENT SOUND ORIGINALS

When you first arrive to a wedding, from the parking lot to the venue, you represent Sound Originals

Everyone at the wedding should come away thinking you ARE Sound Originals.

Do NOT hand out your own business cards

Do NOT tag your own business on social media

Do NOT Livestreams, Stories, or TikToks

Do NOT network with professionals

ARRIVAL ETIQUETTE

When you arrive to the bridal/groom’s suite, knock and announce yourself BEFORE entering the room without your equipment. Get a verbal OK to come in.

NO DRINKING OR DRUG USE

If you are caught drinking, using marijuana or unprescribed drugs prior to arrival at or on premises of Sound Originals assignments we will no longer assign you weddings and there may be other legal consequences.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

No personal phone calls. Turn off your cell phone before the ceremony. Unless it is an emergency.

Defer to the lead photographer;  they are the supervisor on our events.

When possible, eat or take your break away from guests.

No dancing with guest during Open Dance. If you are on the dance floor you must have equipment in hand. You may have some awesome moves but you are not a guest.

Smile and be polite even when you don’t feel like it. We are professionals in a service-based industry. It’s noticed when we are not bringing our best selves to an event.

If you use a photobooth only do so when your contracted time has concluded and only when there are no guests in line.

Prior to leaving, leads should say goodbye. Remember that you still represent Sound Originals as you walk back to your car.

Remember you are representing Sound Originals and you are being paid to cover an event in its entirety. Always be aware of what’s going on beyond your current spot and vantage point. Remember, you’re covering an event, and there’s always something you could be capturing elsewhere. Try to circulate the event and get as much shot variety as you can, varying your viewpoint from that of the other photographer/videographer.
